Display, design and ergonomics

The ASUS Vivo Tab RT (TF600TG-1B084R) is incredibly lightweight and thin with a metallic finish, thus making it a delight to handle it comfortably as an ultraportable device. It sports a gorgeous 10.1 inch super IPS + multi touch screen with WXGA resolution that ensures wide viewing angles and stunning visuals. The Corning fit glass protects it against scratches. Outdoor legibility under bright lights is satisfactory.To savor the real mobile experience; one can utilize the dock keyboard functionality that helps switch between the laptop and tablet modes.

Processor, GPU, OS, Memory and storage

The potent Quad-core NVIDIA tegra 3 processor takes care of the performance demands and when combined with the tablet’s 2gb of ddr3 RAM and a graphics processing unit designed by NVIDIA( the well known graphics giant), the device becomes capable to execute high-end games as well. The tile-centric user interface of Windows 8 RT is visually appealing and works seamlessly, intelligently incorporating several tablet UI features linked with swipes, taps and other gestures. To manage productivity, Microsoft offers pre-loaded Office Home and Student 2013 RT. The storage capacity of the tab is limited to 32GB.

Battery

The Lithium polymer battery guarantees up to 9 hours of usage on the tablet mode and 16 hours on the dock mode.

Camera and multimedia

To enjoy excellent high quality audio, Asus equipped the device with quad speakers and Sonic master Audio technology.

The magnificent 8 MP rear camera captures images that are lifelike and vivid. The shots are impressive even in low-light environment. The camera also boasts of a large aperture lens (f/2.2), hybrid Infrared filter, touch to focus feature and an increased shutter speed that tends to reduce motion-blur. The essential built-in LED flash is also present. The 2MP front facing camera is capable of recording high quality 1080p videos for video conferencing using Skype and other similar software. The rear facing camera can also record 1080p videos as well.

Connectivity and sensors

Connectivity staples include Wifi b/g/n, 3g, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS, NFC and the array of ports include micro HDMI, USB 2.0 and a 3.5 mm audio jack. There’s a microSD card reader too. Sensors include Gyroscope, Ambient light sensor and e-compass.

There is virtually nothing to complain about the ASUS Vivo Tab RT, it tends to diminish the line that segregates laptops from tablet PCs. Whether it is Multimedia, Gaming, Internet Browsing, managing tasks or even professional photo, video and sound editing, the tablet delivers a stellar performance in all of these segments.Overall, the tab packs a punch, and the specs are pretty heavy duty for this light and thin tablet. It is definitely worth the high price tag.
