Tottenham’s Women’s Super League match against Everton has been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
Sunday’s game at Brisbane Road was called off just over two hours before it was due to kick off at 14:00 GMT after heavy rain in London.
Some Everton players expressed their frustration on social media at the match being called off.
Toffees midfielder Izzy Christiansen tweeted that she was “very disappointed about today”.
She said postponing games so late didn’t “bode well” for women’s football wanting to “be elite, visible, with fan bases growing by the week etc etc”.
Fellow Everton player Megan Finnigan conveyed her views using emojis.
Tottenham, who play most of their home games at League Two Leyton Orient’s stadium, said in a statement that details for the rearranged fixture “will be announced in due course”.
Both clubs are currently level on nine points after each winning three games so far this season.
